Protecting Your Privacy
At Edgartown National Bank, the basis of each customer relationship is
trust. You have chosen to do business with Edgartown National Bank
and we are obligated to honor that relationship with great care, beginning
with the information that you have chosen to share with us. We believe
that your privacy should not be compromised. At the same time, we want
to offer you an array of financial products and services so that you
can accomplish your financial goals. We believe that we can do both
through the Privacy Statement that we have adopted.
Our Privacy Pledge to Customers

This privacy statement applies only to nonpublic personal information
obtained by us in connection with financial products and services for
personal, family or household purposes (and not business purposes). This
notice takes precedence over any previous privacy notice or statement
issued by us.
Information We Collect
The type of information we collect depends upon the type of product or service
you obtain from us. We may collect "nonpublic personal information" about
you. "Nonpublic personal information" is information about you, which
is not available from public sources, obtained in connection with providing
you with a financial product or service. For example, nonpublic personal information
may include information regarding your account balance, payment history or
deposit account activity.
We may collect this personal information from the following
sources:
- Information we receive from you on applications or
other forms you may complete and provide to us, such as your name,
address, social
security
number, assets, income and, in the case of applications for insurance,
health and medical information;
- Information about your transactions
with us, such as your account balance, payment history, or products
and services used;
- Information such as your creditworthiness and your
payment history that we receive from third parties, such as credit
bureaus;
- Information from outside sources regarding employment, credit
and other relationships. Examples include your employment history,
balances,
credit card balances, property insurance coverage and other verifications; and
- As
required by the USA Patriot Act, we also collect information and
take actions necessary to verify your identification.
Information We Disclose
Under no circumstances do we provide information to companies for the purpose
of independent telemarketing or direct mail marketing of any non-financial
products or services of those companies.
Under certain circumstances, we disclose
personal information about you to "nonaffiliated
third parties" (i.e. third parties that are not affiliated with Edgartown
National Bank or Island Bancorp). For example, we disclose personal information
about you to third parties to assist us in servicing your Edgartown National
Bank account, to government entities as required by law in response to subpoenas
and to credit bureaus. We will not disclose any nonpublic personal information
about you to any other third parties, except as permitted by law.
On occasion,
we carefully select joint marketing providers to offer our customers
specialized financial services, such as mortgage life insurance and
credit cards. Although these providers are not affiliated with us, they
work closely
with us
to help meet your financial needs. If appropriate, we may disclose to these
providers information received from you on applications or other forms, such
as your name
and address, as well as information about your transactions with us, such
as opening dates and types of accounts. We may also enter into arrangements
with
nonaffiliated companies or firms whose expertise is essential for our own
services to function properly or to complete transactions. For example,
we may work
with specialized firms that enable online banking or generate account statements
for
our customers. As permitted by law, we disclose to these service providers
the customer information that is necessary to perform these functions. These
marketing
companies and outside service providers are required by us to safeguard the
confidentiality of your nonpublic personal information and to use it only
for authorized purposes.
We also may disclose the nonpublic personal
information we collect about you to other non-affiliates, as permitted
by law. We do not disclose any
nonpublic
personal information about our former customers to anyone except as permitted
by law. For example, certain federal and state laws may require us to disclose
information about you if you are involved in litigation with a third party.
In such circumstances only the specific information required by law, subpoena
or
a court order will be disclosed. If you decide to close your account(s)
or become an inactive customer, we will continue to adhere to the privacy

and
practices described in this notice.
Our
Security Procedures
At Edgartown National Bank, access to your personal and account information is
limited to those employees who need to know that information as part of their
job, to service your account or to provide you with products or services. Employees
are educated as to the importance of maintaining the confidentiality of customer
information and on these Privacy policies and procedures. In addition, we maintain
physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that are reasonably designed to
safeguard your nonpublic personal information.
Online Services and Privacy
Safeguarding your personal information when interacting with us via the Internet
is extremely important. We apply the standards discussed above in caring for
your personal information. When browsing our website, personal information
such as your email address, is not collected. Some areas of our website require
information, such as your email address or your account number to enable you
to perform certain tasks. In these cases, we collect the information necessary
to interact with you.
If you visit us on the Internet, we may place a “cookie” on
your browser that records the number of visits made to our various web pages.
However,
personal information is not collected. If you use our Online Banking or Bill
Pay programs, you may receive additional cookies that contain your unique identifier,
allowing you to view and manage your accounts. These cookies may be linked
to personally identifiable information.
Edgartown National Bank has a
transactional website available for its customers.
If the customer has signed an authorization agreement to use Edgartown National
Bank’s website for Internet banking services, the Bank will retain the
customer’s user ID and password so that the Bank can recognize the customer
as an authorized user of the website. When the customer engages in Internet
banking transactions with the Bank on the website, the Bank maintains all information
relating to the customer’s activities and transactions. The Bank uses
a secure website, passcodes and special encryption technology to protect the
customer’s
information from interception by unauthorized third parties.
The Bank obtains
e-mail addresses from our customers. The Bank does not share e-mail addresses
with anyone. The Bank does not communicate with its customers
about their specific banking transactions by e-mail. The Bank may from time
to time respond by e-mail to inquiries from such customers about other matters
but
the Bank never discusses or includes nonpublic personal financial information
in those responses. The Bank encourages its customers not to communicate
any nonpublic personal financial information by e-mail to the Bank, as
e-mail is
not secure.
From time to time the Bank may send e-mail to its customers
about new or additional Edgartown National Bank Internet banking products
or
services.
If the customer
does not want to receive this information from the Bank via e-mail, the
customer may request at the time such e-mail is received by the customer
that the
Bank not send any more information by e-mail to the customer.
Please do
not send confidential information such as social security or account
numbers to us via regular email. In instances where email addresses
are provided,
they are provided for information inquiries of a non-sensitive and non-confidential
nature.
Protecting Children Online
We will not knowingly collect, store, use or disclose information from children.
We define children as persons under the age of 13.
We do not direct any portion
of the website to children. We will not send any unsolicited promotions to
users who indicate they are less than 13 years of age
unless the solicitation is in connection with an account opened by an adult.
Actions You Can Take
You may request that Edgartown National Bank not contact you about direct marketing
offers. Direct marketing offers from Edgartown National Bank may include information
about new products and services being offered by the bank. If you choose not
to hear from us, you may not receive offers about Edgartown National Bank products
and services that may be of value to you.

Guarding Your Own Information
Edgartown National Bank recommends that you take the following precautions to
guard against the disclosure and unauthorized use of your account and personal
information:
- Never provide personal information (including full
Social Security Numbers

account and credit card information) over the phone unless you have initiated
the call and know with whom you are speaking.
- Safeguard ATM cards, credit
cards and debit cards.
- Memorize PINs (personal identification numbers)
and refrain from writing PINs, Social Security Numbers or credit card
numbers where they can easily be
found.
- Immediately change preassigned PINs to a personally memorized PIN.
- Do
not use easily identifiable numbers such as birth dates, addresses,
phone numbers or Social Security numbers when choosing your PIN.
- Store cancelled
checks, new checks and account statements in a safe place.
- Tear up
or shred unused preapproved credit offers.
- Report lost or stolen checks,
and lost or stolen credit and debit cards immediately.
